The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is an independent body that regulates the private security industry in the United Kingdom. All individuals working in the private security industry must hold an SIA license, with the exception of those carrying out certain low-risk activities. The SIA license is a mark of professionalism and competence, and it demonstrates that the holder has met the SIA’s standards of training and assessment.
There are a number of different types of SIA licenses available, depending on the type of work that the individual will be carrying out. The most common type of license is the Security Guarding License, which allows the holder to work as a security guard. Other types of licenses include the Door Supervisor License, the Cash and Valuables in Transit License, and the CCTV Operator License.
